We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our team

About us

We are a market-leading B2B company, offering electricity, grid, and product companies a digital platform that enables a whole new customer journey and all utility services gathered in one digital platform. With our white label service, end customers can easily control and manage their energy consumption, pay their invoices, and receive forecasts of future energy consumption. The end customer will also know exactly when in the day it is best for the environment and the wallet to charge the electric car, boil a slow cooker or vacuum. With smart systems and smart algorithms that simplify everyday life, we are moving towards a brighter future. Together.

In 2021 we doubled the team, moved into our own office, went from 16 to 23 customers and entered the Norwegian market. So far our journey has taken us from Sweden to the Nordic region and we have no plans to stop anytime soon. As Bright continues to expand across Europe, so does the complexity of our platform. Therefore, we are now looking for a Platform Engineer to help us on our bright journey ahead! Could that be you?

About the role

As our first Platform Engineer at Bright, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our Kubernetes platform managed on City Network. You will also be dedicating your time to move data workloads from Heroku to our new environment on Kubernetes.

But that’s not all! We have other fun challenges as well, services to scale and optimize, data processes to orchestrate in a safe way, test environments to host, making sure CI scripts run smoothly, and ensuring continuous deployment without downtime. Ultimately, you will help us improve the platform’s security, stability, and the developer experience.

About you

At Bright we value individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to crunch data, and with an ethical thinking. You should thrive in a highly technological environment and have a team-oriented way of working. Beyond that we imagine that you check some of the following points:

• At least 5 years experience of hosting
• Experience in Docker and Kubernetes
• Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English
• Experience in scaling up and managing large amounts of traffic load
• Experience in continuous integration for applications
• Experience in releases and CI/CD pipelines to build mobile applications
• Experience in MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• Experience in Typescript/Javascript

It’s more than just a job

At Bright, you will be joining an innovative, close-knit team with an ambitious mindset. Our goal is to disrupt energy usage and help end customers change their habits and take advantage of renewable energy when it is extracted instead of losing it. You will be part of something truly meaningful that both transforms the energy business and contributes to a greener, more sustainable society. And as we continue to grow and expand into new markets you will get the chance to grow with us, professionally and personally. In addition to a welcoming and inclusive work environment we offer all employees a wide range of benefits and flexibility, but we can get to that stuff later.

Have you read this far? Then send in your application to emily.mankio@getbright.se and join us in transforming the way people use energy in their everyday lives!
