Mälarenergi has started a collaboration with the technology company Bright Energy AB. For Mälarenergi’s 140,000 customers, the collaboration means that they have the opportunity to control their energy use through an app and minimize their climate footprint.

Our technology is about making it easy for people to reduce both their costs and their climate footprint. Through the collaboration, Mälarenergi’s customers get the opportunity to control their electricity use to the hours of the day that are best for both the environment and the wallet, says David Forsberg, founder and CEO of Bright.

With Bright’s digital solution, Mälarenergi’s customers will be able to more easily make sustainable choices in their energy use and administer, follow up and partially manage their services. In this way, customers can reduce their electricity costs and maximize the climate benefits from renewable energy. Bright’s digital solutions will be available both via a free app and on Mälarenergi’s website.

We work constantly to create services and products that make it easy for our customers to act environmentally smart and energy efficient. For us, it is a strength to be able to collect all our deliveries of, for example, electricity, district heating and water in one and the same app. Then the collaboration with Bright and their technical solution suits us like a glove, says Ove Fredriksson, marketing manager for Mälarenergi.

Mälarenergi was founded in 1861 and today delivers electricity, heating, water and broadband solutions as well as related services, especially in the Mälardalen region. In addition, the company sells electricity to private and corporate customers throughout Sweden.

Bright was established in 2012 and collaborates with electricity, grid and product companies that want to offer their customers an easy opportunity to control their electricity use. The aim is to maximize the climate benefits from renewable energy sources, reduce costs for the consumer and help Sweden’s electricity grid to cope with the increased load that electrification will entail.
